At The Relationship Clinic, we believe that great counselors are formed through experience, reflection, and authentic connection—not just classroom theory. That’s why we partner with leading universities and faith-based organizations to offer hands-on training opportunities for students, counselors, and ministry leaders who want to make a lasting impact.
If you’re a Human Services, Counseling, or Marriage & Family Therapy student at Regent University, Old Dominion University, Liberty, or another accredited program, TRC provides an ideal site to complete your practicum or internship requirements.
Our program integrates the Relational Discernment Theory (RDT) and Relational Attunement Model (RAM)—faith-based frameworks that blend solid clinical theory with biblical principles of care, in concert with your traditional counseling skills training.
Students gain real-world experience in both in-person and online client work under close supervision, while also participating in professional development groups, team case reviews, and spiritual formation sessions. Our model meets or exceeds university standards for supervision, documentation, and field education hours.
For those entering the helping professions through non-traditional or faith-based pathways, TRC offers a track designed specifically for Christian counselors and life coaches in training. Participants receive mentorship, RDT/RAM training, and supervised practice in applied ministry and relational care. This pathway is ideal for those seeking to serve individuals, couples, and families through biblically grounded relationship counseling and coaching. Whether you’re pursuing certification, expanding your ministry, or preparing to open your own practice, you’ll find a community of like-minded professionals dedicated to excellence and character.
We also welcome partnerships with churches, ministries, and Christian schools seeking to expand their care networks. Through our affiliate program, TRC provides training, support, and access to our licensed materials and group curricula. Partner ministries can host TRC-approved programs—such as Broken by Betrayal, Covenant Men, or Marriage by Design—and receive ongoing support to strengthen their local outreach.
These partnerships extend the mission of The Relationship Clinic beyond our walls, equipping local communities to bring restoration and growth where it’s needed most.
Whether you’re a student, a counselor-in-training, or a ministry leader, you’ll find more than a placement here—you’ll find a purpose. TRC is more than a clinic; it’s a training ground for Christ-centered care, where faith and psychology meet in practical, transformative ways.
